"Welcome to the station crew, enjoy your stay."

The Sharty has its very own Space Station 13 server, that (You) should check out!

What is Space Station 13?
Space Station 13 is a "roleplaying" sandbox survival game where (You) and other members of the Space Crew must survive on a station while you try to do your heccerinos j*b where absolutely everything WILL go wrong. From you getting crushed in the skull by a clown, to the dummyed engineers fucking up the Supermatter or the Captain having disappeared. Maybe there's an entire party at the bar, or medbay blew up again and there's a Nuclear Operative on the loose running around the station and the station's gonna blow up or the AI is malfunctioning and going to kill us all and the only way to stop him is to break into the AI upload and destroy him.
This game has a ton of content to be discovered and probably 100+ ways things could happen.

Why should I play this dummyed shit it looks bad
Because this game is a fun sandbox game and you can kill everybody you don't like.
You can also make bombs for fun.
Or go around the station and build dumb shit.
Or just start cooking shit for whatever and serve virtual customers.
Or you could order shit with the ship's supply budget, hack the console and order weapons then get security on your ass when they find out.
Or you could become a greytider and fuck around and find out.
Or you could become a clown and become the most annoying fuck on the station.
There's too many things, and even I don't know how many there are.

Alright, where do I start?
If you're on Linux, follow THIS guide Space Station 13/List of guides/Playing on Linux (https://soyjakwiki.org/Space_Station_13/List_of_guides/Playing_on_Linux)
If you're a WindowsBVLL then just follow these steps:
1. Go to BYOND - Make & Play Online Multiplayer Games - Community (https://www.byond.com/download)
2. Download BYOND
3. Install BYOND
4. Launch BYOND
5. Register for an account (THIS IS OPTIONAL, GUESTS ARE ENABLED ON SHARTY STATION)
6. Press Open... or CTRL+O
7. Type in byond://ss13.soyjak.st:8888
8. Press Ok and Have fun!

You can also just go to byond://ss13.soyjak.st:8888 in your browser, but it doesn't work on Linux for obvious reasons...

HELP!!! I'M NEW AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
Stay /calm/ [doctos] [doctos] [doctos] [doctos] don't panic.
Now do one of the following:
1. Ask other people around you don't be afraid to this is how most new players start out, Ask mentorhelp by going into the Mentors tab, or you could adminhelp with F1
2. Check the Soyjak Wiki if there are guides for your chosen Job Space Station 13/List of guides (https://soyjakwiki.org/Space_Station_13/List_of_guides)
3. Check the /tg/station 13 wiki (What the codebase is based off of is based off on) /tg/station 13 Wiki (http://wiki.tgstation13.org/) and look for your chosen Job or specific task
4. Stay /calm/ and remember, fucking up and breaking shit is what makes this game fun

Extra info:
Space Station 13 servers almost always have an open source codebase.
You can find the Sharty Station 13 source code here GitHub - Space-Soyentists/ShartyStation13 (https://github.com/Space-Soyentists/ShartyStation13)
(You) should report bugs and make changes if you dare want to try fighting the beast that is Dream maker.

Rules:

1. You WILL NOT upload, post, request, or link to illegal content anywhere on the server.

2. You WILL NOT advocate, promote, or post pedophilia or pedophilic content, including pedophilic jokes anywhere on the server.

3. You WILL NOT advertise for your shitty ERP servers, discord servers, telegram channels, on the server.
Participating in a hostile or disruptive community outside of the server/site will result in a ban.

4. You WILL NOT play on this server if you are below the age of 16. If you are underage, you can always play soycraft instead.

5. You WILL NOT attempt to get this server or the site taken down.

IN-GAME RULES
1. ERP is forbidden, if you're looking to goot to 2d pixels then you're on the wrong server.

2. Do not mass-grief as a non-antag for no reason and avoid killing new players merely trying to play the game. If you want do something funny but breaks this rule, ask about it in AHELP or make an OPFOR request so you can get gear for it.
Griefing is perfectly fine and encouraged against liggers, moths and goblins.

3. This server is a low roleplay environment (LRP), but can be no roleplay (NRP) at times. Light amounts of roleplay is recommended, but no roleplay is fine. If it does get to a point where NRP can ruin the experience of others, then you may be warned for it.

4. All borgs and AI have to follow their laws unless they are antagonists.
This includes dronereal women too, don't kill everyone just because you're a droneliar.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION
As a general practice, It is recommended to play this server with an alternative account or a guest account if you wish to play other Space Station 13 servers, as they have been noted for banning you simply for finding you playing here. (I do not know if they still do this, take this with a grain of salt.)
All sharty related bans will transfer to the server, if you've been permanently banned for anything.

Can (You) survive Space Station 13?

how do I download this for Linux last time I checked it seemd complicated
https://soyjakwiki.org/Space_Station_13/List_of_guides/Playing_on_Linuxhttps://forum.ss13.co/showthread.php?tid=23731tl;dr
you make a wineprefix and use winetricks to install corefonts dxvk vcrun2022
then use your new wineprefix for the next steps
then get the webview bootsrapper Microsoft Edge WebView2 | Microsoft Edge Developer (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2?form=MA13LH)
and then go into winecfg and set your default version to windows 7 and add a new application for the webview bootstrapper to windows 10
then download byond normally and run it in your new wineprefix
once thats done you can run it from your 'WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Program Files/BYOND/bin/byond.exe' and hopefully it should work
for convenience you can also manually add it to lutris instead of having to call it from the cli every time
the lutris install script hasn't worked for me and a couple of other people
if BYOND crashes or something goes wrong and you want to kill everything you run with your wineprefix env var set wineserver -k
